Cuba suffered its first total blackout today since the oil blockade was established by the United States in late January. Since that time, there has been a steady decrease in Cuba’s ability to meet energy needs throughout the country. This pressure is designed by the Trump administration to break the back of the hostile Cuban communist regime in an attempt to turn the country toward Washington.

Cuba has begun to show signs of civil unrest; over the weekend, there was a rally in the city of Morón at a Communist Party office that turned into a riot. This comes as increasing blackouts and food shortages are becoming a major problem all over the island.

President Trump made dismissive and confident statements when asked about the situation in Cuba, stating, “Free it, take it, I can do anything I want with it.” There are reportedly talks scheduled for this Friday in what would be the first outreach between the two countries, as something must be done.

President Trump looks forward to finally ending the decades long feud that has kept The United States and Cuba at odds. This will be a great victory for the president, and it couldn't come at a better time.

Hemispheric dominance is required for American security and interests. Should be good.
